Thee Attacks, Shiny Darkly and Apparat Organ Quartet are playing must-see shows at the Canadian Music Week! So if you are in Toronto, check them out. And don’t forget the Crunchy Frog and Friends Official Showcase at The Garrison!
Things are happening in Crunchy land and that’s a good thing, especially since what’s happening is good. So good. First of all we’ve got beautiful news for all of you who are going to SPOT Festival. We’re taking our London-based Crunchy Club home, and in collaboration with both the festival and Bobkat Agency we present to you:
CRUNCHY CLUB @ SPOT w/ THEE ATTACKS, SHINY DARKLY & SNAKE & JET’S AMAZING BULLIT BAND
It’s a beautiful way to celebrate the friendship between the artists, the industry and the audience, says SPOT. And when SPOT says something, it’s true. That’s a rule. Look forward to three mind-blowing live-sets with three of our favorite bands in the whole world. This also means you have to stay tuned in for updates on (modesty is so last year!) the without a doubt best afterparty in the world. Since May is still far away, here’s some (perhaps completely already wellknown) gossip for your lingering pleasure:
Did you notice that Soundvenue picked Shiny Darkly as “Breakin’ Sound”? That’s a really fine sound. We like the sound of it. Okay. Things are really happening for the three young men: Passive/Aggressive, the beauty of beauties among Danish blogs (unfortunately only in Danish), writes sweet words about them and presents them at their monthly okay-so-now-its-the-first-Thursday-in-this-month-so-let’s-take-awesome-bands-and-make-a-night-of-it club-thing at Bakken. All Scandinavian (this one in English, yay!) is into Diana. So are we. And well, did the smoking hot rumors reach your ear? Danish Newspaper, Politiken calls them “Denmarks New Hope “. Next stop? World peace.
Snake & Jet have been way to busy finishing their third album to restore world peace. Luckily for us. And you. 30 April is the day. We expect chaos at every record store. We know that the wait is long and that patience is key, so make the wait pleasant with Black Egg. It’s still up for free download, it’s a gooooood tune; British music-enthusiasts-extraordinaire Clash Music even made it their Track of The Day! We’re completely thrilled for the record to hit you guys, and it’s gonna be a pretty one, just see yourself:
Success continues. Thee Attacks and SXSW was a beautiful couple and if we believed in rumors, we would know that people was once again impressed by the live appearance of the four, newly cut and well-dressed young men. They’re in Toronto for CMW right now, and the live-update goes something like: “it’s a true paradise” (that’s why the picture below is absolutely ha-ha funny). Besides SPOT, they’re playing at the CPH:PIX closing party at Lille Vega 28 April, and uh hey, Shiny Darkly is actually supporting them! That has to be a good night. So believe the rumors, buy yourself a ticket – if you’re lucky (and you are), they’ll play brand new songs (read: completely-out-there good songs). Hooray!
Confused? Don’t know where to go when? Here’s a recap:
We’ve got some very good news for those of you on the other side of that small ocean, they call the Atlantic. Thee Attacks will play this year’s SXSW in good old Austin, Texas, as well as CMW in Toronto. This is not only good news to us and the band, it’s brilliant news for all of those people going. Last year MOJO magazine named Thee Attacks as one of the seven at their The Magnificent SXSW Seven-list. That’s a good list. But then again… Thee Attacks is a really good band, so it all kind of makes sense.
It looked somewhat like this at SXSW last year. We don’t want to make any promises the band can’t live up to, so let’s start with this modest little teaser: Thee Attacks will without any doubt deliver the concert of your life. They will. Impatient, yes? To kill time we suggest you take a look at what happened when Thee Attacks played Roskilde in 2010 (ok, it might just leave you a little more impatient, but at the same time extremely impressed).
Good enough news? Or do you want more? Updates on the coming album? Gossip from the crazy-London-recording-life? Stay tuned! In a case like this, Crunchy Frog kiss and tells.
